SOLO YOLO ART EXHIBIT June 21, 2025

I’ve been wanting to do a solo exhibit for a long time. I’ve been a featured artist several times in galleries and in group exhibits but not a large exhibit just about me and my work. For years, I had this idea that one day someone was going to come along and make my dreams reality. I’ve even had people say that to me…you just need that one person to help make it all happen. A couple years ago, I opened a fortune cookie and my fortune said , “There is a great opportunity right under your nose.” I thought about that and then gasped and said out loud, "It’s meeeeeeeeee!!! I’m the opportunity! I’m the person I’ve been waiting for!!!" So… I decided to honor myself and my work and celebrate with those who love and appreciate my work.

The history behind these characters started with my oldest daughter and continued with my youngest daughter drawing characters with large smiles! Their drawings were filled with joy! I turned their drawings into ceramic sculptures and then added my own creativity! Making these characters and their world always brings me joy and it’s an honor to have my work bring joy to others. I was once asked by an artist, “Don’t you ever make anything serious?” I replied, “I am serious about my career as an artist. I am serious about the integrity of my work. As far as what comes out of me, what I create, there’s enough seriousness in this world. I’d rather create joy.”
